May 25, 2018 ̶ North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) was honored with the American Land Title Association (ALTA) Title Industry Political Action Committee (TIPAC) Top Mid-Cap Underwriter Award for helping to raise a record amount of donations in 2017.
TIPAC Chair David Townsend presented the award to NATIC this week during ALTA’s 2018 Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C. Last year, NATIC raised $8,900 from 27 contributors. So far this year, the company has raised $7,550 from 13 contributors.
“We are proud to present these awards in honor of the title professionals who understand the commitment to making TIPAC stronger each and every year,” Townsend said. “It’s not just strength in our dollars, it’s strength in our numbers who believe in what TIPAC does.”
Accepting the award on NATIC’s behalf was Rich Griffin, NATIC vice president and national sales manager, who attended the Advocacy Summit as part of the Illinois delegation’s effort to lobby Congressional representatives on Capitol Hill.
“We are so proud of our NATIC associates and their commitment to our industry to ensure our collective voice is heard in Washington, D.C.,” said Griffin. “Having just returned from the ALTA Advocacy Summit and sitting down with members of Congress, it was a great reminder that communication and education are our greatest tools.
“While we live and breathe title issues every day, the number and wide array of issues that are discussed at the Capitol is staggering. We were proud to be part of the effort to make sure Congress understands how we protect property rights for everyone,” added Griffin.
TIPAC is ALTA’s voluntary, nonpartisan PAC and the only one that directly represents the interests of the title insurance industry in our nation’s political system. TIPAC raises money to help elect and reelect candidates to Congress who understand and support the issues affecting the title insurance industry.
