Sara Valenz, Esq.

Sara Valenz provides legal and underwriting support to NATIC agents throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Sara has been in the title industry for more than 10 years, most recently serving as Associate Senior Underwriter and New Jersey State Counsel for a large national underwriter, where she previously served as Underwriting Counsel and Claims Counsel. Her problem-solving and transactional facilitation skills in her role as an underwriting counsel are complemented by the skills she gained as a claims counsel in the area of assessing risk. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Sara earned her Juris Doctor from New York Law School. She is admitted to practice in the state of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Sara serves as the Second Vice President of the New Jersey Land Title Association, Chair of the 2018 Convention Committee and on the Legislative, Amicus and Technology Committees. Additionally, she serves on the Title Insurance Rating Bureau of Pennsylvania’s Rate and Manual Committees and the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts.

Ed is an equity shareholder in Davison, Eastman, Munoz, Lederman & Paone PA, a full-service law firm with offices in Freehold and Toms River, New Jersey. Ed is the firm’s authority on real estate, complex title disputes and general litigation. He also serves as the Executive Director of the New Jersey Land Title Association and Manager of the New Jersey Land Title Insurance Rating Bureau. Ed has served as a lecturer for the New Jersey Land Title Institute, authored sections of the New Jersey Practice Series on real estate law and is co-author of the NJ/CLE book, Residential Real Estate Law and Practice in New Jersey. He is designated as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court and certified as a mediator by the New Jersey Administration Office of the Courts. He previously served as a municipal court judge and prosecutor, Assistant Monmouth County Counsel, Boundary Line Commissioner, Condemnation Commissioner, HUD Foreclosure Commissioner and Master in Chancery. Ed received his B.A. from the University of Delaware and his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.

Amy Tankersley serves as editor of NATIC’s publications, including LookingNorth, Claims Connection and NewsLink, and produces webinars and other instructional tools to further NATIC’s educational outreach to its agents in the title insurance and settlement services marketplace. Amy launched her career as a reporter for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Ohio’s largest newspaper, at the age of 15. After graduating from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, she served as the editor of several trade publications, including The Legal Description, The Title Report and Drug Discovery News. Much of her work has focused on legal, legislative, regulatory and compliance matters. Most recently, she worked as a freelance journalist and multimedia service provider, primarily for the real estate, mortgage, title insurance, settlement services and financial services industries.
