MIAMI – March 14, 2019 – North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) has hired attorney Jessica Hew as vice president, underwriting counsel and state agency manager in Florida. In this hybrid role, Hew has become part of Florida’s underwriting counsel team, bringing commercial and real estate law practice experience to her work with NATIC agents. She also works alongside Assistant Vice President, Regional Agency Manager Geoffrey Harris, State Agency Manager Andrew Nadal and State Agency Manager Michael Soviero to oversee agency operations in Florida and expand NATIC’s Florida attorney agent base.

“NATIC customers will look to Jessica as their single point of contact for all things NATIC. She can support their sales and administrative needs as well as work closely with them on any underwriting matters,” said Valerie Jahn-Grandin, executive vice president and chief underwriting counsel. “Jessica is hands-on and understands that the deal waits for no one. She has extensive practice experience and will offer unparalleled understanding of the role of attorneys as agents and counselors.”

“Jessica embraces our open, honest and direct communication culture,” said Rich Griffin, vice president and national agency manager. “She is fearless in her ability to approach a situation and look for the solution. Her focus will be toward attorneys in central Florida, offering guidance and support to those managing a full client base and those with closing and settlement operations.”

A member of the Florida Bar for more than 25 years, Hew commands a broad base of legal knowledge gained through her litigation practice, her work as general counsel and her experience with transactional and compliance matters. She worked nearly 20 years at Burr & Forman LLP, a national commercial and real estate firm, where she handled claims on behalf of major underwriters. She also served as a partner of Vose Law Firm in Winter Park, Florida, before going into solo practice. Hew is a certified mediator in state and federal courts and an arbitrator. In 2018, and again in 2019, she was selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of real estate law. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Loyola University of the South and a law degree from Tulane University School of Law.

“After having practiced law for 25 plus years in government, private law firms and with businesses, I am thrilled to join NATIC to assist agents in real estate law from the underwriter’s standpoint,” said Hew. “NATIC is a nationally known, dynamic company with thoughtful associates who care about the people behind the transaction.”
Hew is located at the NATIC Florida office at 760 N.W. 107th Ave., Suite 401, Miami, FL 33172. She can be reached at (813) 682-8812 or
